About refurbished servers at Server Hub

Server Hub sells certified-refurbished Dell PowerEdge and HP ProLiant servers — R430s through R940s, DL360s and DL380s — every one wiped, tested and graded before it ships, and backed by a local warranty. Prices are in rand and typically 40–70% below new for the same compute.

Refurbished enterprise hardware is where smart South African IT budgets go furthest. A server built for a decade of duty does not stop being capable after its first owner refreshes; professionally reconditioned, it runs virtualisation, storage, backup and line-of-business workloads exactly as new hardware would, for a fraction of the price.

Browse the full servers department for new and refurbished side by side, rack and tower models, and server cabinets to house them. Tell us your workload — cores, memory, drive bays — and we will match the right chassis and quote it in rand.

Prices include duty and are shown in South African rand. Talk to us for volume pricing or a specification you cannot find here.

Frequently asked questions

Are refurbished servers worth it?

For most workloads, yes. A refurbished Dell PowerEdge or HP ProLiant delivers the same compute as new hardware at 40–70% lower cost, with a local warranty. New makes sense only when you need the latest CPU generation or a manufacturer support contract; for virtualisation, storage and general workloads, refurbished is the better value.

What warranty comes with a refurbished server?

Every certified-refurbished server we sell is tested and carries a local Server Hub warranty handled in Johannesburg — you deal with us, not an overseas RMA queue. The warranty term is stated on each product page.

Is a refurbished server as reliable as new?

Enterprise servers are built for years of continuous duty, so a professionally refurbished unit — wiped, tested and re-certified — is highly reliable. Server-grade components (ECC memory, redundant power, hot-swap drives) are designed to be serviced and reused.
