About Dell at Server Hub
If you are looking for who supplies Dell in South Africa, the useful answer depends on which Dell you need — and we cover both ends of it.
New Dell, to order. We source new Dell hardware through authorised South African distribution: PowerEdge T-series tower servers, OptiPlex and Vostro desktops, Latitude notebooks and Dell monitors. These are quoted and supplied to order rather than held on a shelf, landed in rand with VAT and duty included, and they carry Dell's own manufacturer warranty.
Certified refurbished PowerEdge, in depth. The larger part of our Dell catalogue is refurbished rack hardware — the R630, R640, R730 and R740xd generations that run most mid-market South African data centres. This is where we are genuinely specialist rather than merely available. A three-generation-old PowerEdge with modern memory and NVMe costs a fraction of a current-generation equivalent, and for virtualisation, storage and general compute the difference in delivered performance rarely justifies the difference in price.
To be precise about what we are: Server Hub is an independent reseller. We are not a Dell distributor and we do not hold Dell partner status. We buy new Dell through authorised South African distributors, and we refurbish and supply enterprise Dell ourselves. For a buyer, the practical difference is that a distributor sells to the trade in volume, while we will quote you one server and tell you which one.
The choice between new and refurbished is usually simpler than it looks. If you need a tower for an office, a current warranty and a support contract, buy new. If you are filling a rack and the budget has to stretch across compute, drives and network, refurbished is where the money goes furthest. Tell us the workload and we will quote both so you can see the gap.
Every refurbished unit is graded, tested and supplied with a 12-month Server Hub limited warranty, return-to-base, in addition to your Consumer Protection Act rights. Lead times are stated on each product page before checkout.

Is Server Hub a Dell distributor?
- No. We are an independent reseller. We source new Dell through authorised South African distribution, and we supply certified refurbished Dell PowerEdge ourselves. A distributor sells to the trade in volume; we will quote you a single server and tell you which one to buy. Dell and PowerEdge are trademarks of Dell Inc., used for identification only.
Do you supply new Dell, or only refurbished?
- Both. New PowerEdge tower servers, OptiPlex and Vostro desktops, Latitude notebooks and monitors are supplied to order through authorised South African distribution with Dell’s manufacturer warranty. Our refurbished range is rack PowerEdge, held deeper and priced lower. Ask for both and compare.
What warranty comes with a refurbished PowerEdge?
- Twelve months, Server Hub limited, return-to-base and hardware-only with standard exclusions. That runs in addition to your Consumer Protection Act rights, which we do not ask you to waive.
Which PowerEdge generation should I buy?
- It depends on the workload rather than the year. R630 and R640 are 1U machines suited to dense compute and virtualisation; R730 and R740xd are 2U chassis where you need drive bays for storage. Tell us the workload, the memory footprint and the drive layout you need and we will point at the right chassis.
Can you configure a server to a specification?
- Yes. Send us the CPU count, memory, drive layout and any RAID or networking requirement and we will quote the build rather than the closest listing. Bespoke configurations are quoted, not carted.
How long does delivery take?
- Most Dell stock is sourced to order rather than held locally, and the lead time is shown on the product page before checkout. Delivery time is added to that lead time — Johannesburg next day, Cape Town one to two days, elsewhere in South Africa two to five.
