About HP at Server Hub

Our HP catalogue runs from a ProLiant rack server to a printer cartridge, and it splits the same way our Dell range does.

New HP, to order. We source new HP and HPE hardware through authorised South African distribution — ProLiant servers, ProBook and EliteBook notebooks, ProOne and desktop PCs, printers and consumables, memory and care packs. Supplied to order, landed in rand with VAT and duty included, under HP's own manufacturer warranty.

Certified refurbished ProLiant, in depth. The specialist half of the range is refurbished rack hardware: the DL360 and DL380 families, Gen9 through Gen10 Plus, including SAS and NVMe hybrid configurations. These are the 1U and 2U workhorses sitting in more South African comms rooms than any other HPE line, and buying one refurbished is the cheapest way to add real capacity to a rack.

Server Hub is an independent reseller. We are not an HPE distributor and we hold no HPE partner status; HP, HPE and ProLiant are trademarks of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, used to identify the hardware we sell. What we bring is a deep refurbished catalogue, access to new stock through local distribution, and the willingness to tell you when the cheaper generation does the job.

That last point matters. A DL380 Gen9 with sensible memory and modern drives will run a virtualisation host, a file server or a backup target without noticing the difference, at a price that leaves budget for the drives and the network that actually determine how fast it feels. Where a workload genuinely needs current silicon — dense NVMe, newer PCIe generations, current memory bandwidth — we will say so rather than sell you the wrong machine.

Refurbished units are tested and graded before dispatch and carry a 12-month Server Hub limited warranty, return-to-base, alongside your Consumer Protection Act rights. New hardware carries the manufacturer's cover, mirrored locally.

HP — frequently asked questions

Are you an HPE partner or distributor?

No. Server Hub is an independent reseller. We source new HP and HPE through authorised South African distribution and supply certified refurbished ProLiant ourselves. HP, HPE and ProLiant are trademarks of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, used for identification only.

DL360 or DL380 — which do I need?

The DL360 is 1U and suits dense compute where rack space is the constraint. The DL380 is 2U and gives you the drive bays, so it is the better choice when the machine is also holding storage. Both take the same processor families within a generation.

Is a Gen9 ProLiant still worth buying?

For virtualisation, file serving and backup targets, usually yes — the bottleneck is far more often drives and network than CPU generation. For dense NVMe or workloads that need current memory bandwidth, buy newer. We will tell you which case you are in.

What warranty applies?

Twelve months, Server Hub limited, return-to-base and hardware-only with the standard exclusions, running in addition to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, which we do not ask you to waive.

Can I get a specific configuration?

Yes. Send the CPU, memory, drive and RAID requirement and we will quote the build. Bespoke server configurations are quoted rather than bought off the grid.

Do you supply rails, caddies and other ProLiant parts?

Yes — rails, drive caddies, controllers and power supplies are in the server-parts range. If you need a part that is not listed, ask; much of it is sourced to order.
