About server network cards at Server Hub

Network adapters for rack and tower servers: 1GbE cards for management and light duty, 10GbE and 25GbE for virtualisation hosts and storage traffic, and 40GbE and 100GbE for the fastest links — as full-height and low-profile PCIe adapters, network daughter cards and OCP mezzanines. Every card in this range is certified-refurbished and tested before sale.

Check three things before you buy: the form factor your chassis takes (and its bracket height), the port type your switch uses (RJ45 copper or SFP-family optics), and driver support in your operating system or hypervisor. SFP-based cards need transceivers or direct-attach cables, which are listed separately.

Prices are in rand with VAT included, and each product page states its condition and warranty. Switches and cabling are in networking; caddies, rails and controllers are in server parts. Tell us the server model and your switch and we will match the card.

Frequently asked questions

What is a network daughter card?

A network daughter card, or an OCP 3.0 card on newer servers, is a network adapter that plugs into a dedicated connector on the motherboard instead of a PCIe slot, leaving the PCIe slots free. It is specific to the server family, so check your model before you buy.

Should I choose SFP+ or RJ45 ports?

RJ45 (10GBASE-T) runs over ordinary copper patch cable but draws more power and runs warmer. SFP+ takes a transceiver or a direct-attach cable, with lower latency and power draw, and suits rack-to-switch links. Match the card to your switch ports and budget the optics or cables separately.
