NVIDIA 8GB GDDR5 GPU Accelerator — 699-2G414-0200-110

The NVIDIA card carries 8GB of GDDR5 memory.

Graphics memory decides how large a model, scene or dataset fits on the card at once. Higher-power cards draw extra power through auxiliary connectors as well as the slot, so check what the chassis provides. Machine-learning and rendering frameworks reach cards like this through the maker’s compute drivers. In a virtual desktop set-up, one accelerator can be shared across several desktops, subject to the maker’s licensing. As a data-centre accelerator it is aimed at compute work such as inference, rendering and virtual desktop graphics rather than driving displays. It fits a standard PCIe slot with suitable power and cooling. Data-centre cards of this type usually rely on the server’s fans rather than their own, so fit them in chassis designed for them. Use a driver release that your operating system and applications support. Check slot width, power connectors and airflow in your server or workstation before fitting. Pick a server designed to host accelerators, with the risers, cabling and airflow they need.
