The Intel Xeon Platinum 8450H has 28 cores and 56 threads, a 2.00GHz base clock with boost to 3.50GHz, 75MB of cache and a 250W TDP. It belongs to the 4th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors family and fits its platform socket, with support for up to 4TB of memory at 4800MHz DDR5.
In a two-socket server both processors must be the same model; check the server's supported processor list, BIOS level and heatsink rating for a 250W part before fitting. Platinum-tier chips target the heaviest consolidation, database and HPC work. The S-spec code SRM7U identifies the exact processor stepping. Adding a second processor also opens up the memory channels and PCIe lanes attached to that socket.
