This Intel Xeon Gold 6421N runs 32 cores at 1.80GHz (up to 3.60GHz on boost), with 60MB of cache in a 185W power envelope. Part of the 4th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors line, it uses its platform socket and addresses up to 4TB of memory at 4800MHz DDR5.
With simultaneous multithreading enabled, it presents 64 threads to the operating system. Boost clocks apply when thermal and power headroom allow; the base clock is the sustained figure. Clean off old thermal compound and apply fresh paste when fitting it. A 185W processor needs a heatsink rated for its power, and higher-TDP parts may need the server’s high-performance heatsink.
