The Intel Xeon Gold 6252N has 24 cores and 48 threads, a 2.10GHz base clock with boost to 3.60GHz, 35.75MB of cache and a 150W TDP. Part of the 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors line, it uses Socket 3647 and addresses up to 1TB of memory at 2933MHz DDR4.
Per-core software licensing makes core count a cost decision as well as a performance one. Gold-tier parts balance core count and clock speed for virtualisation and database servers. Dual-socket servers need two of the same model; the server's processor support list and BIOS level decide whether this one is accepted.
