The Intel Xeon Gold 6136 has 12 cores and 24 threads, a 3.00GHz base clock with boost to 3.70GHz, 24.75MB of cache and a 150W TDP. Part of the 1st Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors line, it uses Socket 3647 and addresses up to 768GB of memory at 2666MHz DDR4.
Per-core software licensing makes core count a cost decision as well as a performance one. Apply fresh thermal paste each time the processor is seated.
