Intel Xeon E7-8891 v4 10-Core 2.80GHz Server Processor

The Intel Xeon E7-8891 v4 has 10 cores and 20 threads, a 2.80GHz base clock with boost to 3.50GHz, 60MB of cache and a 165W TDP. Part of the Intel server line, it uses LGA2011 and addresses up to 3TB of memory at 1866DDR4 / 1600DDR3.

A 165W processor needs a heatsink rated for its power, and higher-TDP parts may need the server’s high-performance heatsink. With simultaneous multithreading enabled, it presents 20 threads to the operating system. Boost clocks apply when thermal and power headroom allow; the base clock is the sustained figure. It suits general-purpose server duty on its platform. In a two-socket server both processors must be the same model; check the server's supported processor list, BIOS level and heatsink rating for a 165W part before fitting.
