Intel Xeon E-2224G 4-Core 3.50GHz Server Processor

The Intel Xeon E-2224G has 4 cores and 4 threads, a 3.50GHz base clock with boost to 4.70GHz, 8MB of cache and a 71W TDP. Part of the Intel server line, it uses FCLGA1151 and addresses up to 128GB of memory at 2666MHz DDR4.

It suits general-purpose server duty on its platform. Dual-socket servers need two of the same model; the server's processor support list and BIOS level decide whether this one is accepted. In most dual-socket servers the second processor also brings its own memory channels and expansion lanes into play. Its S-spec, SRFAW, pins down the exact stepping. Fresh thermal paste should be applied whenever a processor is fitted or refitted. A 71W processor needs a heatsink rated for its power, and higher-TDP parts may need the server’s high-performance heatsink. With simultaneous multithreading enabled, it presents 4 threads to the operating system. Boost clocks apply when thermal and power headroom allow; the base clock is the sustained figure.
