A pair of AMD EPYC 7452 chips (2.35GHz, 32 cores each) and 384GB of DDR4 RAM power this HPE ProLiant DL385 Gen10 Plus 2U rack server. The drive complement is two 480GB SATA SSDs, 960GB before RAID; six bays of the 8-bay 2.5-inch chassis are still free.
A Smart Array P408i-a RAID controller with 2GB of cache, dual-port 25GbE SFP28 networking (Broadcom 57414) and dual 800W power supplies complete the specification. Also included: rack rails.
All-flash drives keep storage latency low, so the 64 cores and 384GB can be put to work on transactional databases, analytics or a dense set of virtual machines. Two identical drives make a straightforward RAID 1 mirror for resilience.
Memory here is half as much again as that of a lighter DL385 Gen10 Plus configuration, leaving more headroom for memory-bound work. With twice the cores of a lighter DL385 Gen10 Plus configuration, it runs more work side by side.
