This HPE ProLiant DL385 Gen10 Plus is a 2U rack server built around two AMD EPYC 7452 processors (32 cores each, 2.35GHz base clock) and 128GB of DDR4 memory. It carries two 480GB SATA SSDs for 960GB of raw capacity, occupying two bays of the 8-bay 2.5-inch chassis and leaving six free.
Around that sit a Smart Array P408i-a RAID controller with 2GB of cache, dual-port 25GbE SFP28 networking (Broadcom 57414) and dual 800W power supplies. You also get rack rails.
Flash throughout means quick random reads and writes, which is what SQL servers, VDI hosts and busy application servers lean on. Two identical drives make a straightforward RAID 1 mirror for resilience. Dual power supplies mean one can fail, or one feed can drop, without taking the machine down.
