24 3.84TB SAS SSDs populate this Dell PowerVault ME4024 2U storage array. That comes to 92.16TB of raw capacity with all bays of the 24-bay 2.5-inch chassis populated.
The enclosure is fitted with two SAS controllers with 8GB of cache each and dual 584W power supplies. Also included: rack rails.
Dual SAS controllers let the PowerVault ME4024 serve block storage to more than one host, which suits clustered hypervisors and shared database storage. Set up as RAID 10, the 24 drives keep half their raw space and stay mirrored. Dual power supplies mean one can fail, or one feed can drop, without taking the machine down.
Where hard-disk builds of the ME4024 favour capacity, this one favours responsiveness with flash storage. It carries more raw storage than the smaller ME4024 configurations.
