24 1.92TB SAS SSDs populate this Dell PowerVault ME4024 2U storage array. Raw capacity is 46.08TB, filling every bay of the 24-bay 2.5-inch chassis.
Behind the drives sit two SAS controllers with 8GB of cache each and dual 584W power supplies. You also get a rack rail kit.
With dual SAS controllers, the PowerVault ME4024 presents shared block storage to several hosts; typical uses are a small virtualisation cluster or consolidated file and database storage. RAID 10 across the 24 drives would keep twelve drives' worth of space while mirroring every write. A dual-controller layout is designed so the array stays reachable if one controller fails, provided the hosts are set up with multipath.
Compared with a hard-disk build of the same ME4024, this all-flash configuration trades raw capacity for much lower storage latency. Raw capacity is higher than in the smaller ME4024 builds.
Our Johannesburg team inspects and bench-tests the array and wipes any stored data before it is released as certified refurbished.
