Six 10TB 7.2K SAS hard drives populate this Dell PowerVault MD1400 2U storage array. That comes to 60TB of raw capacity; six bays of the 12-bay 3.5-inch chassis are still free.
The enclosure is fitted with two SAS enclosure management modules (4-port 12Gbps SAS each) and dual 600W power supplies. The configuration also lists rack rails.
Use it to grow an existing server's storage: the two enclosure management modules connect the 12-bay 3.5-inch shelf to an external SAS port on the host. How much of the raw space is usable depends on the RAID level set across the six drives. Dual power supplies mean one can fail, or one feed can drop, without taking the machine down.
It carries more raw storage than the smaller MD1400 configurations.
Condition is certified refurbished, and each array is inspected, bench-tested and wiped in Johannesburg.
