Configured as a tower server, this Dell PowerEdge T350 combines one 6-core Intel Xeon E-2356G at 3.20GHz with 64GB of DDR4. Storage comes as two 960GB SATA SSDs, 1.92TB raw, occupying two bays of the 8-bay 3.5-inch chassis and leaving six free.
The build is rounded out by a PERC H345 RAID controller, dual-port 1GbE RJ45 networking (Broadcom 5720) and dual 600W power supplies. Also included: an iDRAC9 Enterprise licence for out-of-band management.
This is a sensible size for directory services, file and print, a small line-of-business application or a test and development lab. The two drives pair naturally as a RAID 1 mirror. Capacity can grow later by filling the free bays, without a change of chassis.
