Here the Dell PowerEdge R760xa 2U rack server comes with a pair of Intel Xeon Gold 6434 chips (3.70GHz, 8 cores each) alongside 256GB of DDR5 memory. It carries two 7.68TB SAS SSDs for 15.36TB of raw capacity in two bays of the 8-bay 2.5-inch chassis, so six remain open for expansion.
Supporting hardware includes PERC H965I hardware RAID (8GB cache), dual-port 10GbE RJ45 networking (Broadcom 57416) and dual 2800W power supplies. You also get an iDRAC9 Enterprise licence for out-of-band management and a rack rail kit.
This is the kind of build that suits database servers and virtualisation hosts where storage latency, not capacity, sets the pace. The two drives pair naturally as a RAID 1 mirror.
That is twice the memory of a lighter R760xa build, which matters most for virtual machines and caching. Its Gold-tier processors sit a step above the entry CPU options for this model.
As a certified refurbished server, it is inspected, bench-tested and data-wiped by our Johannesburg team before release.
