This Dell PowerEdge R7525 is a 2U rack server built around a pair of AMD EPYC 7343 chips (3.20GHz, 16 cores each) and 256GB of DDR4 RAM. Storage comes as eight 3.84TB SAS SSDs, 30.72TB raw in eight bays of the 16-bay 2.5-inch chassis, so eight remain open for expansion.
Around that sit a PERC H755 RAID controller with 8GB of cache, 2 × 10GbE SFP+ networking (Broadcom 57412) and dual 1400W power supplies. You also get iDRAC9 Enterprise remote management and rack rails.
Flash throughout means quick random reads and writes, which is what SQL servers, VDI hosts and busy application servers lean on. Set up as RAID 10, the eight drives keep half their raw space and stay mirrored. With a redundant pair of supplies, each can sit on its own power circuit.
