This Dell PowerEdge R7515 is a 2U rack server built around a single AMD EPYC 7763 (64 cores at 2.45GHz) and 256GB of DDR4 memory. Storage comes as four 3.2TB NVMe SSDs, 12.8TB raw, occupying four bays of the 24-bay 2.5-inch chassis and leaving 20 free.
Around that sit a PERC H740P RAID controller with 8GB of cache, dual-port 10GbE RJ45 networking (Broadcom 57416) and dual 1100W power supplies. Also included: iDRAC9 Enterprise remote management and rack rails.
Flash throughout means quick random reads and writes, which is what SQL servers, VDI hosts and busy application servers lean on. Set up as RAID 10, the four drives keep half their raw space and stay mirrored.
