This Dell PowerEdge R6525 is a 1U rack server built around two AMD EPYC 7343 processors (16 cores each, 3.20GHz base clock) and 128GB of DDR4 memory. Storage comes as eight 1.92TB SAS SSDs, 15.36TB raw with all bays of the 8-bay 2.5-inch chassis populated.
Around that sit a PERC H755 RAID controller with 8GB of cache, dual-port 10GbE RJ45 networking (Broadcom 57416) and dual 1400W power supplies. The configuration also lists iDRAC9 Enterprise remote management and rack rails.
Flash throughout means quick random reads and writes, which is what SQL servers, VDI hosts and busy application servers lean on. Set up as RAID 10, the eight drives keep half their raw space and stay mirrored.
