Two 12-core Intel Xeon Silver 4310 CPUs at 2.10GHz and 128GB of DDR4 power this Dell PowerEdge R650xs 1U rack server. Storage comes as four 4TB 7.2K SAS hard drives, 16TB raw with all bays of the 4-bay 3.5-inch chassis populated. The operating system gets its own home on a BOSS card carrying two 240GB M.2 SATA SSDs.
A PERC H755 RAID controller with 8GB of cache, dual-port 1GbE RJ45 networking (Broadcom 5720) and dual 600W power supplies complete the specification. The configuration also lists iDRAC9 Enterprise remote management and rack rails.
The capacity-first layout suits backup targets, media libraries and large file shares, where raw terabytes matter more than random I/O. RAID 6 across all four drives would keep two drives' worth of space and tolerate two drive failures.
