Two 16-core Intel Xeon Gold 6326 CPUs at 2.90GHz and 128GB of DDR4 power this Dell PowerEdge R650 1U rack server. The drive complement is ten 1.92TB SAS SSDs, 19.2TB before RAID with all bays of the 10-bay 2.5-inch chassis populated.
A PERC H755 RAID controller with 8GB of cache, dual-port 25GbE SFP28 networking (Intel E810-XXVDA2) and dual 800W power supplies complete the specification. You also get iDRAC9 Enterprise remote management and rack rails.
All-flash drives keep storage latency low, so the 32 cores and 128GB can be put to work on transactional databases, analytics or a dense set of virtual machines. Set up as RAID 10, the ten drives keep half their raw space and stay mirrored. Console access, power control and hardware alerts stay available over the management port whatever state the operating system is in.
Where hard-disk builds of the R650 favour capacity, this one favours responsiveness with flash storage. Memory here is twice that of a lighter R650 configuration, leaving more headroom for memory-bound work.
