Here the Dell PowerEdge R450 1U rack server comes with two Intel Xeon Silver 4309Y processors (8 cores each, 2.80GHz base clock) alongside 32GB of DDR4 memory. The drive complement is two 480GB SATA SSDs, 960GB before RAID; six bays of the 8-bay 2.5-inch chassis are still free.
Supporting hardware includes PERC H755 hardware RAID (8GB cache), dual-port 1GbE RJ45 networking (Broadcom 5720) and dual 600W power supplies. The configuration also lists an iDRAC9 Enterprise licence for out-of-band management and a rack rail kit.
Use it for domain services, a modest file server, backups for a small office or as a lab host. The two drives pair naturally as a RAID 1 mirror. The memory-to-core ratio is on the lean side; add modules if the workload leans on caching.
Compared with a hard-disk build of the same R450, this all-flash configuration trades raw capacity for much lower storage latency. It is one of the lighter-memory R450 builds; a configuration with more memory is the step up for memory-bound workloads.
