This Dell PowerEdge R440 is a 1U rack server built around two 20-core Intel Xeon Gold 6230 CPUs at 2.10GHz and 128GB of DDR4. The drive complement is two 2.4TB 10K SAS hard drives, 4.8TB before RAID in two bays of the 8-bay 2.5-inch chassis, so six remain open for expansion.
Around that sit a PERC H730P RAID controller with 2GB of cache, dual-port 1GbE RJ45 networking (Broadcom 5720) and dual 550W power supplies. You also get iDRAC9 Enterprise remote management and rack rails.
On 40 cores and 128GB it can serve as a small hypervisor host, an application server or a departmental database. Two identical drives make a straightforward RAID 1 mirror for resilience.
