The PERC H730P is a RAID controller with 2GB of cache, sold under Dell part number 2RFJJ.
Disk and array health show up in the server’s hardware management logs. Look-alike parts can differ in revision, and the Dell part number is what tells them apart. With RAID handled on the card, the host sees plain volumes and spends no processor time on parity. Arrays are created and managed from the controller’s pre-boot utility or from management software in the operating system. Controllers of the same family can usually take over an existing array from its drives, but check firmware levels before swapping one for another. Drives connect through the server’s backplane, so the controller has to suit the backplane it is cabled to. It is listed for PowerEdge MX740c. Matching the Dell part number 2RFJJ against your system's parts list is the surest way to confirm the controller fits.
Our Johannesburg team inspects and bench-tests the part before it is released as certified refurbished.
