This is a 1.92TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD over a 6Gbps SATA link.
A spare of the same model cuts the time an array spends degraded when a drive fails. Dell-labelled drives are intended for PowerEdge servers and PowerVault arrays with 2.5-inch SATA bays. After a swap the controller rebuilds the data onto the new drive; the bigger the drive, the longer that takes. Hot-plug bays let a failed member of a redundant array be replaced without powering the server down. A drive needs the tray or caddy that matches the server generation to sit in a hot-plug bay. In an existing array, keep new disks at the same capacity, speed and interface as their neighbours. It runs from a SATA port or from most server RAID controllers and HBAs. Its read intensive rating points it at volumes that are mostly read. A SATA SSD is a straightforward upgrade for boot volumes, virtual machine storage and read-heavy databases.
